At Fox Plumbing & WaterCare, we believe it’s our responsibility to practice and spread awareness about water and energy conservation. The elimination of wasteful plumbing fixtures is one of many ways to conserve water and energy in your home or business.
Here are several plumbing fixture options to help conserve water, save money, and contribute to the purity of our planet.
Toilets
The current Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standard for water usage of toilets is 1.6 gallons per flush.
The following toilets meet or exceed the EPA guidelines without compromising performance, style, or comfort:
Good
1.6 gallons per flush (gpf) gravity flush
These toilets comply with the Energy Policy Act standards, using almost half as much water as the old 3 gpf toilets.
Makes: Kohler / Mansfield / Gerber
Better
1.3 gpf gravity flushMore stringent water consumption standards are coming sooner than later.. Kohler offers “conservation without compromise” with high-performance 1.28 gpf high-efficiency toilets (HETs).
Makes: Kohler
Best
1.0 gpf pressure-assist flush
Makes: Kohler / Mansfield / Gerber
Showerheads and Faucets
The current EPA guideline for showerheads is 1.5 gallons per minute.Make sure you have low flow showerheads installed within all showers in your home and don’t forget to check your faucets for aerators, which help conserve water by adding air to the water flow at the faucet, reducing the volume of water output, but still providing the consumer with enough water to meet his/her needs.

Water Softeners and Conditioners
Water Softeners reduce iron and hard water contaminants. All the water softeners we install conserve water because they regenerate based on water usage, not like metered systems which regenerate based on time.

Ultraviolet (UV) Water Purifiers
Now your home can use the same technology that New York, Seattle, and bottled water companies use to purify their water. UV Water purification systems are 99.99% effective in eliminating bacteria and viruses from your water supply.
Makes: Viqua by Trojan Technologies / WaterCare
Reverse Osmosis (RO) Systems
Reverse Osmosis Systems filter water through a natural process, providing pure water without buying bottles. Save yourself tons of money by installing an RO System in your kitchen for a better version of bottled water for pennies on the dollar!

Hot Water Recirculation System
Hot water recirculation systems save water by maintaining the temperature of hot water in the pipes. This means no waiting for hot water while your faucet is running. Hot water is ready almost instantly, so you don’t have to waste it at the faucet.
